ADVANCED TRAINING

These programs are intended to offer participants a host of lectures and seminars on new advancements and developments in the field of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. They provide a high specialty-level learning experience that emphasizes on clinical knowledge and comprehensive scientific foundation. The participants will acquire advanced skills and experience to diagnose and treat complex orthodontic cases and enable them to become strong leaders in orthodontics. The teaching will be covered mainly by Drs. Z. BENTAHAR, J. BOUSERHAL and G. LECOCQ, additionally well-known speakers will be invited to expose their high expertise on special topics.

The details of these nine Advanced Training Programs can be sent by email upon request and the key information are as follows:

  • Locations: Paris, France or any other country according to participants demand.
  • Number of participants: Minimum of fifteen is required.
  • Attendance: Three sessions of two days each or one session of five full days.
  • Starting dates: January 2021.
  • Languages: French, English and Spanish.
  • Level of study: Orthodontists and postgraduate students in orthodontics.
  • Fees: 2850 euros (Registration : 600 euros + 750 euros par Module).

  • Diagnose urgent clinical situations in deciduous and mixed dentitions.
  • Consider facial growth modifications and their effect on malocclusion development.
  • Apply guidance of eruption during different phases of development of the dentition.
  • Differentiate between one phase versus two phase treatment concepts.
  • Understand basic biomechanical principles of different interceptive orthodontic appliances.
  • Handle different malocclusions in sagittal, vertical and transverse dimensions in mixed dentition.

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Diagnose different clinical situations in adolescent patients.
  • Consider facial growth modifications in orthodontic treatment planning.
  • Acquire the clinical knowledge about contemporary orthodontic appliances and their manipulations.
  • Understand treatment protocols of different sagittal malocclusions.
  • Handle transversal discrepancies and apply orthodontic and orthopedic treatment mechanics.
  • Control difficult vertical malocclusions in a 3D treatment approach.

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Fill in prescription forms according to the diagnosis, treatment goals and treatment plan.
  • Understand rules of setups made for lingual appliances.
  • Master biomechanics in lingual orthodontics.
  • Treat minor and moderate crowding without extraction.
  • Manage severe discrepancy with extraction mechanics.
  • Correct all types of malocclusion: class II and III, transversal discrepancy and surgical cases.

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Manage digital flow for aligner therapy.
  • Make setups for aligners and split it in several clinical phases.
  • Understand the difference between setups for fixed appliances and for aligners.
  • Understand the biomechanics of aligners.
  • Use attachments efficiently.

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the evidence base approach in orthodontics.
  • Evaluate and criticize the scientific literature.
  • Develop critical thinking.
  • Elaborate a research protocol.
  • Write a scientific paper.
  • Acquire better scientific communication skills.

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:

  • Build an educational program to teach students.
  • Base the program on the latest scientific data and the specific needs of the population.
  • Define the educational objectives according to the chosen program.
  • Master different teaching strategies adapted to the needs of orthodontics.
  • Use evaluation tools for theoretical, practical and clinical learning adapted to orthodontic teaching.
